Creating Design Icons for Cataloguing

 

1 - Run Embird and select the "Manager" mode.
2 - In the "Folder:" box at the right side of the screen specify the folder with the designs you want to catalogue.
3 - Select the designs, of which the icons are going to be created. Click the left mouse button on filenames in "Files:" box at the right side of the screen and select a group of designs.
4 - Once the files are selected, click on "Right Panel" menu and choose "Export... -> Export Image..." command, or just press the ALT+I key. (Picture No. 1).

5 - Specify the size of icons - either width or height. (Picture No. 2).

6 - Specify the file format of icons. The length of .JPG files is smaller than the length of .BMP files, but it takes more time to create .JPG files.
7 - Finally, hit the "All" button to create icons of all selected desings. (Picture No.3). Icons will be stored in the same folder as the designs.

8 - Now you can use the icons. For example, if you have Windows 98/ME/2000 you can view the icons in Windows Explorer. Run Windows Explorer (click on Start -> Programs -> Windows Explorer). Browse to the folder with your designs and move the mouse cursor to the icon file. After a while, the icon will be shown at the left side of the screen (Picture No. 4). 

Note:  You can use any other picture browser to view the icons, e.g. IrfanView or ACDSee.
